This listing is for 1 skein of yarn and is ready to ship.
There is said to be several species of Woodpeckers here in Ohio, and I remember the distinct pecking sound I would hear coming through my bedroom window growing up in my childhood home. I dyed up this colorway in tribute to those winged noisemakers that interrupted many naptimes for me. There’s a dark gray and black color throughout the yarn, representing their feathers and then red, which represents the red crown that Woodpeckers have. The yarn used is a Worsted/Aran weight, 80/20 Fine Superwash Merino/Baby Alpaca blend, so the yarn is soft and works up fast.
I hope you enjoy working up your next hat, scarf, or blanket with this little birdy.
80% Fine Superwash Merino Wool / 20% Baby Alpaca
Worsted/Aran Weight, 2 ply, 100 g, 191 yards
Hand wash in cool water with mild soap. Dry flat.
If using more than 1 skein in a project, it is highly recommended to alternate between skeins every few rows, as there will be variations between skeins due to the hand dyeing process.
*Can request this colorway on a different yarn base/weight by placing a special-order request.
**Darker colored, highly saturated yarn, may have some color release when washed. Highly recommend to hand wash again before starting your project. Mixing wash with distilled white vinegar or a small amount of rubbing alcohol will help. Helpful to add color catcher sheets to your wash.
